What exactly is a Kickstarter and why should I back it?
A Kickstarter is a great way to crowdfund new ideas and creative projects. It’s a way to bring people together in support of an idea. If you like this idea, vote on it with your dollars (or pounds, forints, or rupees) and show that you want more ideas like this to exist in the world.

When will my card be charged?
If the campaign is successfully funded, all backers’ credit cards will be charged on November 4th. On your statement, it will say “KICKSTARTER: TODAY IS,” as the seller.

So wait, you don't charge my card immediately?
Nope. A pledge is just that, a pledge that IF the campaign is fully funded, backers cards will be charged only at the end of the campaign. Meaning, if you pledge to a reward tier today, your card won’t be charged until November 4.

Can I order multiple tiers?
Kickstarter is not exactly like a shop. You only get to choose one tier (though you can change your mind later and switch to a different tier, if you like).
Once you’ve chosen a tier, you can add on as many books, signed art cards, and art prints as you’d like with the “add-on” feature. You’ll have that option at checkout.

Do you offer international shipping?
Yes. You’ll see under the shipping section of the campaign page shipping estimates to several countries. These estimates are for shipping one book and also include DDP (delivery duty paid) for any countries outside of the USA. If you require a more specific estimate, as shipping costs are paid by the customer once the campaign has ended, email [email protected].

Tell me about international shipping costs.
Estimated shipping costs are visible when you select your Reward Tier. These prices have been calculated by passing the discounted postage rates from our fulfillment partner right to you.
We know these are high (especially in certain countries), and we’re sorry about that!
Postage rates are, of course, outside of our control, but we’ve partnered with an excellent fulfillment company who manage all international shipments to be DDP (delivery duty paid) so when you pay for shipping, that will be the whole price that covers shipping and duties.

How does the Canada Post strike impact shipping?
We work with many local and regional shipping solutions, so if one isn’t available, we’ll be using the others. Not to worry and no shipping delays are anticipated currently. We will keep backers updated.

Are there plans to translate the book into other languages?
Maybe! Rhyming books are especially hard to translate in order to maintain the rhythm of the rhymes. This may happen if there is enough interest.

What happens if I wait to order until after the Kickstarter?
You’ll be able to pre-order the book through Justine’s website, but we won’t be able to guarantee your copy in the first print run, and you won’t have the option to order any of the rewards (like the art prints or signed art cards).

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
